Vôo da Mosca, Jacob do Bandolim, Waltz (Valsa). Saxophone.

Marcio Schuster plays the fantasic “O Vôo da Mosca’, choro from Jacob do Bandolim. Recorded in Brazil and in Germany together with  @trioquintinaoficial. As you can imagine, they had lots of fun recording it.

Marcio used the technique of circular breathing for this song. Basically he plays the entire tune without stopping to breath!

“O Vôo da Mosca” means the The Flight of the Fly and while listening the song you can understand the name. It is a very traditional Choro from Brazil, in the rhythm of Waltz, or Valsa in Portuguese. Every musician who plays Choro tunes aim this song because of the challenging technique. Originally, Jacob do Bandolim recorded the solo in the Mandolim or “Bandolim” in Portuguese.Thereafter, it propagated to any instrument.

The ensemble has a 7 strings guitar, cavaquinho (the small guitar with 4 strings) and a tambourine, or pandeiro in Portuguese.
